Better Half, the Midtown restaurant from PushStart Kitchen founders Zach and Cristina Meloy, is adjusting its hours and is now open for dinner only four nights per week. The new hours are Wednesday and Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. Better half was previously open Tuesday night as well.
"Opening on limited, select nights allows us to be even more focused and creative with our food menu, drink program, and sourcing," Zach Meloy said in a release.
One more change for the restaurant is the addition of Timothy Kelly to the kitchen. Kelly comes from New York City, where he most recently worked at Thomas Keller's Per Se. He previously worked at local restaurants The Spence, Restaurant Eugene, Holeman & Finch, and BluePoint.
There's no specific job title for Kelly. The three-man kitchen team — Zach Meloy, Kelly, and Jonathan Miller — collaborate and build the restaurant's menu, which features a casual, Southern take on fine dining.
