1) Cumming: Twisted Taco, the local fast-casual Tex-Mex chain, is opening a new location in the Lakeland Plaza Shopping Center at 501 Buford Highway. Co-founders Paul Gibbs and Ray Sieradzki have signed a 10-year lease for the 4,800-square-foot space, which will be the eighth outpost in the Atlanta area after a Georgia Tech location opens in January. The Cumming restaurant is aiming to launch in the first quarter of 2015.
2) Smyrna: The building that housed Howard's Restaurant, which recently closed, will soon be home to The Crafty Hog, according to Tomorrow's News Today. The concept comes from restaurateur John Gibney, owner of Gibney's Pub in the Peachtree Mall Downtown. There's no word yet on specific details for the new restaurant, but Gibney is hoping to open in "a couple of months."
