Plans for a hotel and bar/restaurant at The Castle, located in Midtown across from the Woodruff Arts Center have been in place for some time. Tonight, they come to fruition. Haus PUB (Pop-Up Bar) kicks off four days of soft opening at 5 p.m. (HT: Atlanta INTown)
The bar, along with a boutique hotel, doesn't officially open until early 2015, but the owners are hosting a series of preview nights through Saturday. In addition to cocktails, Haus PUB is serving a variety of small plates:
- Shrimp and grits with polenta cake, olive oil-poached shrimp, and charred tomato fondue
- Braised pork shoulder with a sharp cheddar biscuit, rapini, and long hot pepper jelly
- Carbonara flatbread with ricotta, parmesan, pancetta, fresh farm egg, and pea tendrils
- Muffaletta charcuterie with salami, mortadella, capicola, provolone, and cauliflower-olive salad
- Broiled oysters with pancetta, escarole, parmesan, and lemon
- Roasted chicken salad with pine nuts, shaved fennel, baby tomatoes, calabrese chili, and basil pesto
