Grindhouse Killer Burgers, which is adding a Decatur location, hopes to be in business by summer 2015, according to Decaturish.
Alex Brounstein appeared before the Decatur City Commission on Monday, Nov. 17, seeking a zoning variance for 433 North McDonough Street, the future location of the restaurant. The restaurant is located in a Special Pedestrian Area and is subject to certain requirements. But Brounstein asked to waive one of them and keep two curb cuts for two one-way driveways.
The desired location is across from Decatur High School and within a few blocks of the heart of downtown, several other popular restaurants and bars, and the Decatur MARTA station. Right now, the space is a parking lot for school buses.
Grindhouse currently has its original stand in the Sweet Auburn Curb Market, plus locations in Piedmont Heights and Concourse D at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. A fourth opened in Athens a little over a year ago. Brounstein, who owns the chain, is also a partner in Villains, the Midtown sandwich shop that opened last year.
