Peter Chang's Tasty China II, which had been serving Szechuan cuisine in Sandy Springs for five years, closed at the end of service Sunday night (HT: @savoryexposure). Chang announced the news with a sign on Tasty China II's front door and a note on its website.
"We are sad to announce that we will be closing for good after dinner service Sunday, November 2. Thank you for 5 great years! We hope to see you at Tasty China in Marietta and at Jia opening in Midtown early next year."
The original Tasty China, located at 585 Franklin Road in Marietta, will remain open. Jia, from Tasty China's Dahe Yang and executive chef Jiguo Jiang, is coming soon to Ponce City Market's Central Food Hall. It's on track to be the first restaurant to open in the high-profile development, and the menu will include traditional Szechuan cuisine along with Americanized Chinese dishes. Entrees will range from $8 at lunch to $12 at dinner.
All gift cards for Tasty China II will be redeemable at Tasty China and at Jia when it opens, according to the sign posted at the restaurant.
UPDATE: Rio Bravo will make its triumphant return in the Tasty China II space.
