Fans of chef Whitney Otawka's Mexican cuisine have been in mourning ever since Cinco y Diez closed in Athens in late October. If you've been missing it, plan to stop by The Luminary on Sunday, December 14. Otawka will be in the kitchen to transform chef Eli Kirshtein's brasserie into a restaurant with south-of-the-border flair.
For one night only at "La Luminaria," Otawka is serving a four-course dinner that showcases the flavors and technique of Mexican cuisine using Southern ingredients. The event runs from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., and an a la carte menu of select dishes and tacos will be available at the bar. Cost for the prix fixe menu is $45 per person; a portion of the proceeds will be donated to The Giving Kitchen. Make reservations by calling (404) 600-6199 or emailing info@theluminaryatl.com.
