1) Dunwoody: Houston-based Black Walnut Cafe is eying the Atlanta area for two new outposts, reports the Atlanta Business Chronicle. Founder Dirk Laukien recently purchased parcels at 5490 Chamblee Dunwoody Road, previously the site of Old Hickory House, and a location at North Point and Winwood parkways in Alpharetta.
Black Walnut Cafe covers breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner, and offers beer, wine, and cocktails.
2) Buckhead: Tampa-based hamburger chain Burger 21 is planning a few more locations in the metro area, per Tomorrow's News Today. The restaurant has reportedly signed a Letter of Intent to take over a space in Chastain Square on Roswell Road, and officials have signed a lease for another location in the forthcoming Johns Creek Promenade development in Johns Creek. TNT says LOIs are have been signed for restaurants in Kennesaw and Snelville as well.
