Replacing the recently shuttered Briza, Community Smith is set to open in the Renaissance Midtown hotel, per Atlanta Magazine. From executive chef Micah Willix, formerly of Latitude and Ecco, the new concept will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Willix says he'll take a unique approach to preparing a variety of proteins.
Menu items may include crispy clams with potato, crème fraiche and caviar; pan-roasted mussels with Calabrian chilies and charred toast; porchetta with rosemary elote, sweet peppers, and aioli; and smoked beef cheeks with berbere, coconut, and hard squash. Vegetarian-friendly dishes include roasted cauliflower with pickled mustard and turmeric; and cheese and toast with fresh herbs.
At the bar, look for craft cocktails, a small wine list, and local, seasonal beers in cans and bottles. Community Smith will seat 137 and is targeting a January opening.
