Krog Street Market's third anchor restaurant has an opening date. The Cockentrice, a new venture from Kevin Ouzts and the team behind The Spotted Trotter, will launch this Friday at 5 p.m.
"To say that opening my first restaurant is a dream come true would be an understatement. This moment has been the ultimate goal since opening The Spotted Trotter in 2010, and I am beyond excited to finally show Atlanta who I am as a chef and not just as a charcutier," Ouzts said in a prepared statement. "It has been an honor working with the employees, farmers, vendors, and other chefs who have made this opportunity possible, and I am looking forward to showcasing all of that passion on this new stage."
The restaurant, connected to Krog Street Market's stall for The Spotted Trotter, will seat between 100 and 130 people and include an outdoor patio. Look for a "charcuterie saloon that will serve just about everything you can do with a piece of meat and more." The bar will feature a unique cocktail menu, beers and ales, and a wine list that pairs with the food.
The Cockentrice will be open for dinner Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 1 a.m. The kitchen shuts down nightly at 10 p.m., but charcuterie will be available until close.
