East Cobb wine bar Stem gets three stars in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution this week. The adjacent sister spot to Marietta mainstay Seed, Stem "nails many of the essential features of a great wine and tapas bar": a well-written beverage menu spanning wine-based and classic cocktails in addition to fine bottles, a good selection of small plates, and playful service.
This first look at Cristina and chef Zach Meloy's Better Half is warm and welcoming. Creative Loafing mentions the ever-changing menu (only one dish is a constant) at the restaurant, which serves "Southern-leaning, fine dining food in a casual setting," as well as the Home Park space's comfortable vibe and the desserts, which are strong for an eatery with out a pastry chef. Instead, Meloy and Jonathan Miller take on the kitchen themselves.
