The AJC goes way out to Lawrenceville to give a restaurant called The Georgia Pine one star. It's got a good selection of craft beer and sandwiches, but the chef-driven menu of sometimes unfamiliar dishes is "further complicated by awkward servers who don't quite have restaurant rhythm, and the kitchen's consistency issues as it tries to push the envelope with varying degrees of success." [AJC]

New spot Lovies BBQ gets a first look in Creative Loafing. The one-sauce barbecue joint is "off to a great start," and special recommendations go out to the St. Louis ribs and the brussels sprouts side dish. [CL]

THE ELSEWHERE AND THE BLOGS: In the most recent Knife & Fork, Christiane Lauterbach doles out a positive first impression of Better Half, two stars for Emory's Paradise Biryani Pointe, The Imperial, and MJ Korean Tacos and Wings, one star for Tabla, and a star and a half for Little Szechuan and Raku. Burgers, Barbecue and Everything Else goes to Aqua Terra Bistro in Buford and Olympic Flame. Creative Loafing features the cheap eats at The Imperial, Hot Dish Review visits Paper Plane, and Marie, Let's Eat tries Teela Taqueria.
