Atlanta will see a massive number of restaurant openings in 2014. Highly anticipated developments, long-awaited rooftops and cocktail bars, revolving hotel lounges, boutique bowling alleys, and so much more will open in town this year, and Eater's handy guide tracks everything going on in one convenient place. MARCH
Ration & Dram:
Andy Minchow's family friendly Kirkwood establishment by day and bar by night will open for dinner on Arizona Avenue on Tuesday, March 18. Look for craft cocktails befitting a Holeman & Finch alum, plus housemade sodas, a large dinner menu, and more.
Status: Opening March 18; 130 Arizona Avenue, website.
Lusca:
The highly anticipated new concept from Angus Brown and Nhan Le, also of East Atlanta late-night spot Octopus Bar, will open before April in South Buckhead. Look for a totally renovated space, a raw bar helmed by Le, an in-house butcher, and Brown manning the kitchen of the duo's "dream restaurant."

Southbound:
Chamblee restaurant Southbound plans to start serving in March. Ramen expert Mihoko Obunai will execute a to-be-announced lunchtime menu, and Matt Marcus will helm the kitchen for dinner service. The restaurant will host at least one sneak peek dinner while waiting to open to the public.

The Flip Poncey-Highland Rooftop:
It's been anticipated since the restaurant first opened as Richard Blais's haute dog concept in 2011, and now it may finally be happening: the rooftop patio at the Poncey-Highland Flip Burger should open by the end of March. The full-service restaurant itself is already up and running.

Parish:
Under new leadership from Zeb Stevenson in the kitchen and Arianne Fielder behind the bar, Inman Park's Parish will relaunch as a less New Orleans-focused and more community-driven restaurant, fitting with its location right off the BeltLine.

Spice to Table:
From the chef and owner of Cardamom Hill, Asha Gomez's forthcoming Studioplex fast-casual breakfast/lunch/coffee concept will serve "globally inspired" fare and have a retail market. After a long series of delays, it's set to open as early as March.

APRIL
Panbury's:
In Sweet Auburn Curb Market, Panbury's is set to open by early April, serving British-style pasties, hand pies filled with meat, vegetables, or sweets.

Octane Coffee at the Atlanta Tech Village:
A Buckhead location of Octane Coffee will open this spring in the Atlanta Tech Village. The full-service coffee bar will serve beer, wine, and cocktails in addition to coffee and tea and will have a large outdoor patio.
Status: Opening mid-April, 3423 Piedmont Road NE.
Polaris:
The UFO-like revolving restaurant atop the Hyatt Regency downtown will open this spring full of fun features like a "living room" and a "library" in addition to a bar and dining room. The Hyatt's chef Martin Pfefferkorn will helm the kitchen. The restaurant first opened in 1967 and closed in 2004.

Smokebelly:
Barbecue from the crew behind Milton's, Tin Lizzy's, and The Big Ketch will open this spring in Buckhead. Chef Darrell Rice, also of The Big Ketch, will helm the forthcoming restaurant.

The Painted Pin:
Wine expert Justin Amick has left his position at The Spence to operate his "upscale boutique bowling and entertainment venue." Look for all kinds of games, from bowling to bocce and shuffleboard, plus craft cocktails, upscale pub fare, and, of course, good wine.

Delia's Chicken Sausage Stand:
The second location of this East Atlanta classic should open as early as April in West Midtown with double the seating as the original and a rooftop deck.

Taproom Coffee:
This coffee shop and beer bar hopes to open in Kirkwood by April. Its crowdfunding campaign has been fully funded ahead of schedule; stay tuned for updates.

SPRING
Varuni Napoli:
Pizza is coming to the intersection of Monroe Drive and Piedmont Avenue. The space next to HOBNOB will soon host wood-burning ovens, a 20-seat pizza counter, a wine bar, and more from a team including former Antico pizza-maker Luca Varuni.
Status Opening Spring 2014; 1540 Monroe Drive.
Chicken-n-Beer:
Atlanta rapper Ludacris's airport restaurant will open in Hartsfield-Jackson's Concourse D sometime this spring. It's named after his first album and will serve, presumably, chicken and beer in the terminal's centerpoint, which is currently undergoing an expansion.
Status: Opening Spring 2014, 6000 N Terminal Parkway, Concourse D.
Elmyriachi:
This Kirkwood outpost from burrito dive Elmyr's team in Little Five Points boasts a pretty sweet patio, a full bar, and many of the same menu items.
Status: Opening soon; 1950 Hosea L Williams Drive.
Orpheus Brewing:
Overlooking Piedmont Park's new Piedmont Commons, this craft brewery will open in mid-May with a focus on saisons, sours, hops and barrels. Tours and tastings will follow by the end of the month.

Le Fat:
Replacing Yum Bunz, Vietnamese restaurant Le Fat will open this spring in West Midtown. Chef Guy Wong of Miso Izakaya is somehow affiliated will helm the kitchen; the eatery will serve pho, banh mi, and more and will have its own bakery.

Amelie's French Bakery:
An Atlanta outpost of this Charlotte-based bakery will come to West Midtown this spring. Open 24/7, it will serve soups, sandwiches, pastries, coffee, and more.

MAX's Wine Dive:
This Texas-based restaurant with the motto "Fried Chicken and Champagne… Why the Hell Not?!?" will open in Midtown in mid-May. Look for "gourmet comfort food" and seasonal offerings from executive chef Jason Hall.

Victory Sandwich Bar:
Building out the former Park's Edge space on Bernina Avenue, this replacement of the Inman Park original location— which was forced to shutter to make way for forthcoming mixed-use development 280 Elizabeth— should be ready by the spring. Look for $4 sandwiches, Jack and Coke slushies, and a stellar patio.

Empire-Building From Giovanni Di Palma:
Currently planned additions to Giovanni Di Palma's Italian corner of Home Park— which currently houses Antico Pizza, Caffe Gio, and Gio's Chicken Amalfitano— include a limoncello bar, a market, and an outdoor grill and cabana bar. Some or all of these are set to open this spring, but actual details are proving difficult to hammer down.

The Bishop:
In Avondale Estates, The Bishop will open late this spring. The neighborhood spot plans to showcase American classics and comfort food dishes. Menu items showcased so far include hearty sandwiches and salads.

Novo:
Novo, the fast-casual pizzeria from ITP Italian expert Richard Ullio, will open as early as this spring in Dunwoody. The restaurant will be more family-oriented than Ullio's intown concepts Sotto Sotto and Fritti.

The Florence:
Hugh Acheson's two-story Italian restaurant will open in Savannah this May. Look for cocktails on a menu developed by Empire State South's Kellie Thorn and Italian dishes heavy on Southern ingredients from executive chef Kyle Jacovino, previously of Acheson's Athens restaurant Five & Ten.

Foundation Social Eatery:
From Sandy and chef Mel Toledo, this Roswell restaurant is well on its way to a spring opening date. Chef Toledo's honed his skills at Bacchanalia, Century House Tavern, and New York's Daniel.

South Main Kitchen:
Previously the GM of Salt Factory, Little Alley Steak, and Opulent in Roswell, Louis Soon will open South Main Kitchen in downtown Alpharetta this spring with a focus on local produce and the "artistry of food."

Makan:
Asian comfort food will soon be served by chef George Yu in downtown Decatur. Makan plans to open before the end of June in the Courtyard by Marriott restaurant space. Expect ramen, Korean barbecue, dumplings, and a big patio.
Status: Opening Spring 2014; 130 Clairemont Avenue, Decatur.
Cooks & Soldiers:
The newest concept from Castellucci Hospitality Group will open in West Midtown later this year. The Basque- and Spanish-inspired restaurant, helmed by Chad Crete, will join sister establishments Sugo, Double Zero Napoletana, and The Iberian Pig.

SUMMER
Old 4th Distillery:
Small-batch vodka and gin distilled right here in Atlanta may sound too good to be true, but it's exactly what the guys at Old 4th Distillery plan to do. And just like in breweries, there will be a tasting room and tours.

Diner:
Restaurateur Ron Eyester's first non-Morningside concept will open in Atlantic Station this summer. The restaurant, an updated version of the classic diner, will obviously be called Diner.

The Pig and the Pearl:
From Todd Martin, Cindy Shera, and chef Todd Richards of The Shed at Glenwood, this anticipated new smokehouse and raw bar will open in Atlantic Station in the middle of the year.

Buckhead Atlanta:
Coming to the heart of Buckhead, many restaurants from outside of Georgia will see their first Atlanta locations open in this development. Here's what's confirmed as of right now:

Lenox Square Additions:
Joining cupcake shop Sprinkles at the front of Lenox Square this summer will be True Food Kitchen and Zinburger Wine and Burger Bar from Fox Restaurant Concepts. A new Cheesecake Factory will open at the front of the mall as well.

New Lucky China:
East Cobb Chinese restaurant New Lucky China will relocate to a new space across the intersection from its location for the past 15 years. Find it on Gordy Parkway instead of Shallowford Road starting this July.

Krog Street Market:
With its lineup of mostly local restaurants, Old Fourth Ward's Krog Street Market is set to open as early as late July. Restaurant tenants' construction times may vary, but here's a rundown of what's definitely coming in:
· Fred's Meat & Bread, a burger and sandwich counter from the team behind The General Muir. Look for burgers, fries, and classic sandwiches.
· Grand Champion BBQ, an ITP location from this OTP barbecue joint. Find "market-style" meats— smoked-overnight pork, brisket, ribs, etc.— wrapped in butcher paper and served with bread instead of plated. Traditional sides and desserts like collard greens, mac and cheese, and banana pudding will be available as well.
· Gu's Dumplings, a market stall outpost from popular Buford Highway restaurant Gu's Bistro. It'll serve an array of dumplings and noodles as well as a few starters and other dishes like the spicy dry eggplant.
· Jeni's Splendid Ice Creams, a second Atlanta outpost of the popular Columbus, Ohio-based ice cream shop. The first is in West Midtown.
· The Little Tart Bakeshop, a bakery and and full coffee bar offering sweet and savory pastries, drop coffee, espresso-based drinks, and more.
· The Luminary, an American-style brasserie serving regionalized bistro fare and raw bar offerings from Top Chef alum Eli Kirshtein. Status: Set to open in May.
· Pannus Bakery, an international bakery specializing in Latin American, Hispanic, and European breads, pastries, and sandwiches.
· Spice Road Chicken, a market stall from Cardamom Hill chef Asha Gomez featuring chicken from her Kerala-style fried to rotisserie versions, as well as a variety of sides.
· The Spotted Trotter and The Cockentrice, a charcuterie shop and full-service restaurant from Kevin and Megan Ouzts, who also currently operate the first location of The Spotted Trotter in Kirkwood.
· Superica, a "Mex-Tex" restaurant from empire builder Ford Fry and chef Kevin Maxey with casual fare and a big patio.

Bartaco:
Atlanta's first Bartaco will open as early as this summer in West Midtown. The casual concept from the team behind Barcelona Wine Bar will also see an outpost in Inman Park in the near future.

FALL
Staplehouse:
There is so much to say about Staplehouse, the purpose-driven restaurant helmed by Ryan Smith, previously of Empire State South, and dreamed up by the chef, Jen Hidinger, and the team at Local Three— Ryan Turner, Chris Hall, and Todd Mussman. For starters, catch up on its non-profit arm, The Giving Kitchen, right this way.

New St. Regis Restaurant:
The Johnson Studio will design the forthcoming still-nameless restaurant replacing Paces 88 at Buckhead's St. Regis Hotel. Gerry Klaskala of Aria will consult on the menu of "new American cuisine."

Satchel Bros:
Coming to Hartsfield-Jackson's Concourse C this year is Satchel Bros. Deli & Pickle Bar, the newest concept from Atlanta's Fifth Group Restaurants. It will join sister spots Ecco and The Original El Taco at the airport.

Avalon:

Ponce City Market:
Atlanta's been eagerly awaiting news of forthcoming development Ponce City Market, and now the first restaurant tenants have been announced:
· Dub's Fish Camp, a "Southern interpretation of a New England clam shack" from Bacchanalia's Anne Quatrano. Look for a raw shell counter, housemade sandwiches, and steamed fish bowls at the casual "fish shack" in Spring 2015
· H&F Burger, an outpost of Linton Hopkins's burger-and-fries restaurant will come to the market from Turner Field. Joining it will be a second H&F Bread Co. location, selling fresh breads and baked goods.
· Jia, opening before the end of 2014 is this Szechuan restaurant from Tasty China's Dahe Yang and chef Jiguo Jiang.
· Honeysuckle Gelato, a food truck-turned-kiosk serving gelato, popsicles, ice cream floats, and more.
· Simply Seoul Kitchen, following farmers market success and a crowdfunding campaign, look for Simply Seoul to serve kimchi and steamed buns in the market starting next spring.

Big Boss Chinese:
Word on the street is that Guy Wong's signed a lease for this new concept and maybe another, yakitori and ramen shop TON TON.
Venkmans:
Pickle company owner/chef Nick Melvin's restaurant Venkmans should open this year in Old Fourth Ward.
Yeah! Burger's New Concept:
Not many details have arisen on the new concept from the Yeah! Burger team, but it will allegedly "focus on health driven organic options" in West Midtown.
Kevin Gillespie's Barbecue Restaurant:
There's no official word yet, but sources say Top Chef alum and Gunshow owner Kevin Gillespie's on the hunt for a location perfect for some barbecue.
Aurora's Virginia Highland Replacement:
What's going to take over the prime real estate at the corner of Virginia and North Highland avenues? Hopefully Atlanta has confirmation soon.
Aria's Redesign:
Look out for more details on the "huge" redesign of this Buckhead fine dining mainstay. The Johnson Studio will be involved.
Wild Heaven's Brewery:
A brewery and tasting room for Wild Heavens Craft Beers will open in Avondale Estates this year. Stay up to date with daily brewery buildout pictures here.

St. Cecilia:
Ford Fry's fifth concept and his second in Buckhead is now open on Peachtree Road. In a beautiful space, the restaurant serves southern European-inspired cuisine from a seafood- and pasta-heavy menu. Brian Horn helms the kitchen, and Lara Creasy developed the drink menu.

Cinco y Diez:
From Hugh Acheson, chef Whitney Otawka, and Melissa Clegg, founder of Last Resort Grill, new restaurant Cinco y Diez started serving in late January. The cocina takes the place of Acheson's first restaurant, Five & Ten, which relocated down the street in 2013. Look for a menu of Latin-inspired dishes created with locally farmed ingredients.

Sprinkles:
Highly anticipated by many— if only for the 24-hour cupcake ATM— the first in the one-two punch of nationally recognized cupcake chains making their way to Atlanta this year is now doling out baked goods and ice cream in Buckhead.
Don Antonio by Starita:
STG Trattoria shuttered late last year, and pizzeria concept Don Antonio by Starita swooped in from New York City to replace it. The STG owners are somewhat involved in this, the second outpost of the NYC restaurant, which serves from a huge menu of pies.

Souper Jenny:
Owner Jenny Levison has been busy. First, she opened a juice bar next door to the original, always-busy Souper Jenny, and now her second location in Decatur is ladling out the goods. Find it in downtown Decatur six days a week.

Vine & Tap:
After a fire caused long delays, this wine-and-small plates bar is now open in Lenox Village. Owner Ian Medelsohn honed his skills as wine director at Atlanta's St. Regis and H&F Bottle Shop's wine specialist, and now he's moved out on his own.

Big Sky Buckhead:
A Montana-style bar in the heart of Buckhead's nightlife scene opened by UGA grads... and serving chef Hector Santiago's food? It seems incongruous, but so far it's working, and Santiago's famed coconut buns, a holdover from Super Pan, are just as good as ever.

Sweet Auburn BBQ:
Replacing Pura Vida in Poncey-Highlands, the brick-and-mortar Sweet Auburn BBQ outpost is now open on North Highland Avenue. It joins the restaurant's Sweet Auburn location and food truck and will have an expanded menu, a full bar, and table service.

Nikolai's Roof:
First opened in 1976 at the top of the Hilton Atlanta, this Downtown restaurant shuttered late last year for renovations. It reopened in late February with a more approachable menu, more relaxed atmosphere, and the same great views of the city.

Vintage Frozen Custard:
The brick-and-mortar location of Vintage Frozen Custard opened in March in West Midtown. It replaces Ben's Brown Bag, which replaced Curly's Fried Chicken, which replaced LeRoy's.

Juniper & Ivy:
Richard Blais's latest concept is on the other side of the country— in San Diego, to be exact— but it still merits mention for its beautiful space and the fact that the menu boasts something called "left coast cookery." The Top Chef alum's Atlanta restaurants are Flip Burger and The Spence.

Ocean Market:
Lunchtime spot Ocean Market opened Downtown in early March. The restaurant serves everything from salads to crepes with house-cured meats. Also: BYOB.

Bar Meatball:
Replacing Pozole in Virginia Highland, Bar Meatball is now open. It's got meatballs, margaritas, and more.
