Atkins Park Turns 92; More on Mardi Gras

DOWNTOWN— Georgia State's jazz band performs at Sidebar tonight starting at 5 p.m. to kick off Mardi Gras celebrations. The event also features $5 Hurricanes, free moon pies, and, of course, beads. [EaterWire]

VIRGINIA HIGHLAND— Tomorrow, March 5, is Atkins Park Tavern's 92 birthday. To celebrate the occasion, a tasting station and limited open bar begins at 6 p.m. Commemorative t-shirts for attendees, while supplies last. [EaterWire]

OLD FOURTH WARD— The Mardi Gras party continues at Serpas True Food, where New Orleans native Scott Serpas's menu on Fat Tuesday includes seafood gumbo and crawfish pie. There will be live jazz music and appropriately festive attire is encouraged. [EaterWire]
