Creative Loafing takes a first look at Ration & Dram, the new family-friendly neighborhood spot from Holeman & Finch alum Andy Minchow. There is praise for the cocktails— unsurprising given Minchow's background at the mothership of Atlanta's craft cocktail culture— and the food is "simple and satisfying," including a kid-appropriate section of the menu. In sum, "This is a neighborhood restaurant, tucked in loft-filled line between Edgewood and Kirkwood, that happens to have a serious beverage program."

Behind the Atlanta-Journal Constitution paywall, Jenny Turknett reviews Better Half, the supper-club-turned-restaurant from husband and wife team Zach Meloy and Cristina Meloy, granting it three stars. She lauds Better Half as part of a recent trend, of restaurants "serving fine-dining-quality fare" with "a more laid-back approach." Of particular note on the oft-changing menu are items like the strawberry gazpacho and the seared yellowfin tuna.

THE ELSEWHERE AND THE BLOGS: According to Eat It, Atlanta, Taqueria La Oaxaquena is worth the drive to Jonesboro, and the fried chicken at The General Muir warrants a return trip. Hot Dish Review declares the tacos at The Original El Taco the best in town and also checks out Sweet Auburn Barbecue. Food Wolf Blog heads to Rincon Latino in Chamblee, Crush Crave brunches at No. 246 in Decatur, and Review Atlanta doubles up on barbecue at Sweet Auburn Barbecue and 'Cue Barbecue.
