Welcome back to Eater Scenes, in which Eater photographer Matthew Wong visits local restaurants to capture them at a certain, specific point in time. Today, Souper Jenny.
At the Buckhead location of Souper Jenny, lines often wind out the door as hungry customers wait for their turn at the lunch counter. On this recent Wednesday, employees Rachel and Marshall efficiently take orders and assemble food.
Since Souper Jenny opened 15 years ago, chef/owner Jenny Levison and staff have been cooking such comfort fare as salads, sandwiches, and the namesake soups in the quaint East Andrews eatery. Expect friendly counter service, mismatched furniture, and walls adorned with bright framed images and dozens of hand-painted words and phrases in this cheerful space.
Below, a look inside the Buckhead institution at work.
