Joey Zelinka Hosting Junk Food Pop-Up at Sound Table

Joey Zelinka, former executive chef of MAR, will showcase his new pop-up, Junk Food, at The Sound Table over the next few weeks.

"The food is basically going to be an exercise in sarcasm and irreverence," Zelinka said in an email. "I'll be spinning my versions of the crap we all love to eat using carefully sourced premium ingredients. That being said, if someone doesn't exactly 'get it,' it won't matter because at the end of the day it's just going to be tasty food."

Zelinka, who cooked at The Sound Table before departing for MAR, will be popping up at 6 p.m. on July 30, August 6, August 13, and August 20, and he hopes to eventually build a full-time restaurant around the concept.
