Gunshow sous chef Andreas Muller will be the chef de cuisine at Terminus City, Gunshow chef/owner Kevin Gillespie's forthcoming barbecue restaurant. Muller was part of the original team behind the Glenwood Park dim sum-style eatery, and like Gillespie is a veteran of Woodfire Grill.
Gillespie held a Terminus City preview at Gunshow over the weekend and had hoped to announce its location and projected opening date. However, the details have not yet been finalized.
"Andreas and I have talked extensively about creating a hybrid of some very successful Southern restaurant concepts: the meat and 3, family-style, and barbecue," said Gillespie in a prepared statement. "We have pulled components from each of these to implement at Terminus City. We wanted to create an experience that showcases the passion we both have for the cuisine while also keeping true to the old-fashioned preparations by using only the best farm-fresh products."
"The dishes being served ... at Gunshow — whole hog BBQ, country-fried steak, Brunswick stew, creamed corn, shaker style slaw, fried okra, and squash casserole — are some of the menu items we'll be featuring at Terminus City," said Muller. "It's a sneak peek into our future restaurant. I think Atlantans will really enjoy an upgraded experience that has distinct Southern roots and I'm really happy to be working with an innovative guy like Kevin to make this happen."
While the Terminus City issues are sorted out, Gillespie and Muller plan to launch by offering catering services, and they are already set to serve a tailgate for the Atlanta Falcons September 7 season opener against the New Orleans Saints. Parking passes will go on sale in August, through Gunshow, and will be limited to a select number of vehicles.
"As with any real estate transaction they tend to be subject to delay, and we are no exception to that rule," Gillespie said. "We will announce our exact location ASAP along with its opening date, but we're so ready to get going that we decided to start out with a 'mobile experience' until then."
