Katana Teppanyaki & Sushi to Open Early October

Owned by Mali Hu of One Sushi +, Katana, set to open in early October at 3345 Lenox Road NE, will feature a two-part layout that is half sushi bar and half teppanyaki, or cooking made with an iron griddle. Fresh seafood will be imported weekly from Japan to ensure quality on the sushi and sashimi menus, and the prices for signature rolls range between $11 and $23 each.

Hot and cold starters and main entrees will be available alongside the sushi and teppanyaki. Starters include braised pork belly buns and sashimi yarn balls, and main dishes feature options such as green tea salmon and a combination of miso duck breast, crispy duck legs, and duck fried rice. Ten grills will be available in the teppanyaki area, with seating available for 10 people at each grill. Teppanyaki ranges from $21 per person for a chicken base to $31 per person with a filet mignon base. Soups and salads are included, along with an appetizer of seared shrimp with yuku soy.

A hand-crafted cocktail menu will be available as well, featuring drinks like the Chamomile Cooler that's made of Yamakazi 12-year whiskey, lemon, simple syrup, and chamomile foam. Katana will be open seven days a week for dinner: Monday through Thursday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m., with plans to include lunch later in the fall. Complimentary valet will be available.
