After a recent bit of drama, paleo-centric restaurant Urban pL8 is closed for good. The restaurant announced the news in a Facebook post.
Urban pL8 reportedly closed during the middle of service on Sunday, July 27, with the entire kitchen staff being fired due to a "kitchen catastrophe." In a phone conversation with Eater, the restaurant's general manager denied the claims and stated that not only did the restaurant not close, but nobody on staff was fired. Business resumed as usual on Tuesday, July 29, only for Urban pL8 to announce its permanent shutter nine days later.
Urban pL8 claims the landlord is forcing the establishment out due to a technicality on its lease. Owner Betsy Pitts says she will be publishing her recipes online soon. Know details on the restaurant's need to vacate or what will take its place? Thoughts on the abrupt departure? Let us know in the comments or via the tipline.
