Italian/Latin Concept Coming to O4W's 'Lantern House'

Old Fourth Ward's "Lantern House," which provides colorful vessels of light for the BeltLine's Lantern Parade, will soon undergo a transformation. Property owner George DeMeglio tells Curbed Atlanta plans are underway to convert the house in to an Italian/Latin restaurant called "Il Gusto".

"Echoing the personality of O4W, Il Gusto will be a neighborhood bistro with a casual atmosphere and timeless style. We are not out to create a new cuisine, but to make traditional Italian and Latin dishes more accessible. As with the kitchen, the bar will incorporate fresh and local into its selections. We look forward to opening our doors to our neighbors in the fall of 2015."

DeMeglio is consulting with BoccaLupo chef/owner Bruce Logue and an unnamed sous-chef from "one of Atlanta's premier restaurant families," which sounds like a good start to the process. Jeff Russell of Great Northern Pasta Company is consulting to help establish a fresh pasta program.
