1) Decatur: Chef/pitmaster Elliott Moss and the team from forthcoming Asheville barbecue joint Buxton Hall are taking over at Kimball House this Sunday. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Moss and friends will serve up a whole-hog barbecue lunch, complete with beer and cocktails.

Moss formerly cooked at The Admiral in Asheville, and Buxton Hall is owned by Meherwan and Molly Irani, the husband-and-wife team behind Indian street food purveyor Chai Pani.

2) Old Fourth Ward: Continuing to prepare for his Ponce City Market project, chef Hector Santiago is hosting an El Burro Pollo pop-up at The Sound Table Wednesday night. Beginning at 7 p.m., Santiago will serve appetizers such as nopalito salad and octopus aguachile, plus his chicken burritos and pigs head tacos. Chile-chocolate flan brulee is on the menu for dessert.

Santiago is aiming to revive either El Burro Pollo or Super Pan at Ponce City Market. Both North Highland Avenue restaurants, along with Santiago's Pura Vida, closed in 2012.
