The selection of food options at Irwin Street Market is getting a shakeup. A New Jersey-style pizzeria, Old 4th Ward Pizza, will take over the space that previously housed Jake's Ice Cream and begin serving dinner tomorrow, reports Atlanta Magazine. Jake's recently moved across the market into the former Bell Street Burritos and Bob space.
Anthony Spina, the man behind Krust Co. pizza in New Jersey, is running the new eatery. Spina Tells Atlanta his restaurant will offer "very simple Italian [pizza]."
Expect pizzas like Grandma's Pie, a square pizza cooked in a cast-iron pan with house-made mozzarella and marinara sauce. Specialty pies, such as duck prosciutto and cashew cheese margarita will rotate weekly. Gluten-free pizza will also be available.
Bob, which served a variety of kebobs, closed in July. The owners were planning to replace it with a Southern concept called The Georgia Cafe, but it appears that has fallen through.
