Decatur Asian restaurant Makan is bringing families together with its new dinner menu. Chef George Yu and his team are focusing on large family-style dishes and small sharable plates that can be passed around the table.
The large family meals, which aim to feed four guests, include whole roasted duck, roasted pork, two whole fish, and two whole Korean fried chickens. Each family meal comes with appetizers and a variety of side dishes of noodles, fried rice, and vegetables.
Small plates include Korean beef tartare, house made dumplings, and a triple pork Mapo tofu. In addition to the restaurant's Korean-style ramyun, a milder soup is now on the menu. "Makan Ramen" is made with overnight pork and chicken broth, miso, Sun Noodles, poached egg, and roasted pork belly.
