Wrecking Bar's Bob Sandage Is Working on a New Brewery

Sandage is trying to acquire land in Gwinnett County.

Plans for a new brewery from the Wrecking Bar Brewpub team are moving forward, reports the Gwinnett Daily Post. Owner Bob Sandage has asked the Gwinnett County Planning Commission to rezone 7 acres in Loganville, and the board will recommend the change to the Gwinnett Board of Commissioners at a meeting later this month.

The land Sandage desires is currently designated for use by Dillwood Farms. He told the paper last month that the farm would serve as a supplier for the brewery and Wrecking Bar.

The parcel, Sandage explained, is part of 40-plus acres which have been used for farming since the 1960s. If the zoning request is approved, the bulk of the property, known as Dillwood Farms, will continue to be used for agricultural purposes. The farm will supply produce to the Wrecking Bar Brewpub, as well as hops for use in the brewery.

If everything comes together, Sandage's new venture, dubbed Wrecking Barn Brewery, will offer tours on Friday evenings, Saturdays, and Sundays, and special events will be held in a new building on the property.
