Mother, the Sweet Auburn bar in the heart of the Edgewood Avenue scene, has another pop-up taking over the kitchen on Monday nights (H/T: ATL Nom Nom). Piedmont BBQ Co. is a project from Brad Coolidge and Mother bartender Roberto Carlos Naranjo, who is serving Lexington, N.C.-style barbecue with sides, traditional and non.
The entrees are simple: pulled pork with Lexington-style vinegar sauce or grilled chicken with "farm sauce." Sides include red slaw, another Piedmont staple and macaroni and cheese, along with California potato salad (read: no mayo) and creamed cucumbers. The 'cue is available each Monday from 5 p.m. to midnight or until it runs out.
