Avalon Plans Three More Restaurant Openings for Early 2016

The ventures include new outposts for a couple of established Atlanta eateries.


A little less than a year after its first restaurants opened their doors, Avalon, the giant mixed-use development in Alpharetta, has plans for three more eateries. Branch and Barrell, Cafe Intermezzo, and Farm to Ladle have signed leases, according to a press release, and should be up and running by spring 2016.

Branch and Barrel will be a "Southern-inspired, chef-driven" from chef Todd Hogan, who previously opened Branchwater in Cumming. Among the early dishes planned for the menu — see an example here — are sherried lobster and sweet corn gratin with pita chips and bacon-marinated bistro steak and fries. The new Farm to Ladle outpost follows the original soup and sandwich stall at Ponce City Market, and Cafe Intermezzo's fourth European-inspired coffeehouse joins locations in Dunwoody, Midtown, and at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.

The new restaurants come close to wrapping up Phase I of the development. Phase II will add 80,000 square feet of retail, 500,000 square feet of office space, 276 "luxury multifamily units," a 325-room hotel, and a 65,000-square-foot conference center.
