JP Atlanta, the forthcoming Downtown restaurant from local arcitechture icon John C. Portman Jr., has an executive chef on board. Julio Delgado will run the kitchen, the restaurant announced Monday, moving on from is post as executive chef at Château Élan Winery & Resort in Braselton.

Delgado is a longtime Ritz Carlton alum. He previously served as executive chef of The Ritz-Carlton Atlanta Downtown, executive sous chef at The Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, and fine dining chef at The Ritz-Carlton Lodge Reynolds Plantation in Greensboro. "It's an honor for me to interpret Mr. Portman's vision into a menu and dining experience that will pay homage to our city's history while redefining its future," Delgado said in a prepared statement. "I feel like my entire culinary career has been building to this."

JP Atlanta, taking up residence at the new Hotel Indigo, is on track to open this December. The restaurant will offer breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night service at the bar.
