Chef Kevin Ouzts and business partner/wife Megan, the folks behind The Spotted Trotter and The Cockentrice, are adding another Krog Street Market project to their portfolio. Frankly Hot Dogs takes up space adjacent to the market's Spotted Trotter outpost, according to an official announcement, serving a simple menu of sausages from the butcher shop. The buildout for the stall is still underway and there are some kinks to work out, but Frankly soft opens through the weekend, beginning today at 11 a.m.

"We've been making these wonderful hot dogs and sausages for five years now and selling them to everyone else with great results — honestly we're not sure why the lightbulb didn't go off sooner," Kevin Ouzts said in a prepared statement. Everything on the menu checks in under $10:

  • Naked dog - $6
  • Naked sausage - $7
  • Add housemade chili and/or slaw for $0.75 each
  • Wiener of the week - $7.50
  • Sausage de la semana - $8.50
  • Zapps chips - $2

Condiments include Sir Kensington's ketchup and mustard, The Spotted Trotter Dog Sauce, onions, and relish. The stand should officially open soon, and regular hours will be Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Ouzts's opened their first Spotted Trotter location in Kirkwood in 2012 and then followed with the Krog Street Market location last year. They opened The Cockentrice, one of five full-service anchor restaurants at the development, in January.
