Yet another Charleston restaurant is expanding with an Atlanta location. Callie's Hot Little Biscuit, which originally opened in the Holy City last summer, plans to begin service in Virginia-Highland this December. The counter-service restaurant will serve seven varieties of biscuits "piping hot in pairs or by the dozen," according to a release.

Callie's will focus on breakfast, lunch, and late-night. A look at the Charleston location's menu shows biscuits baked with buttermilk, cheese and chive, country ham, black pepper bacon, blackberry, and cinnamon. In addition to the biscuits, the menu includes shortcakes, pimento cheese sandwiches, grits bowls, coffee, and tea. There's also a take-away market aspect to Callie's, offering frozen and refrigerated biscuits, cheese crisps, cocktail pecans, coffee from King Bean Coffee Roasters, grits, compound butters, dips, and jams.

"Virginia-Highland has just the right character and we're thrilled to squeeze our little biscuit shop into a thriving neighborhood spot," owner Carrie Morey said in a prepared statement. Callie's Hot Little Biscuit will take over a 900-square-foot space in the former Winter Wren clothing store at 1004 North Highland Avenue.
