Fox Brox. Bar-B-Q, the essential Candler Park purveyor of smoked meats, is looking to expand with a second location in Westside. Brothers Jonathan and Justin Fox haven't signed a lease or narrowed down a specific address, PR for Fox Brothers Restaurant Group tells Eater Atlanta, but Tomorrow's News Today reports a couple of buildings on Marietta Road may be the prime targets.
Fox Brothers PR did confirm the barbecue joint is specifically looking to Westside for expansion, and other areas of Atlanta aren't being considered. The company still owns the building that previously housed Big Tex in Decatur, and while it's currently being used as a temporary catering facility, "after that we have no plans at this time for the space." Big Tex, Fox Brothers' "Texas-inspired" restaurant that offered live music, closed last November.
While plans for a Westside outpost haven't been set in stone, Fox Bros. is officially on board at The Battery, the forthcoming development that will accompany the Atlanta Braves' SunTrust Park in Cobb County. The restaurant's barbecue will be served out of a venture called Tomahawk Taproom, which should open in time for the 2017 Major League Baseball season.
