Eight Sushi Lounge, the Westside restaurant from Rice Restaurant and Sushi Bar owner Lei G Ho, is officially open for business. Located in the Brady development at 930 Howell Mill Road, Ho wants Eight to serve as "a modern twist on a what sushi bars and Japanese restaurants are" and "revolutionize how Japanese food is viewed."
The restaurant's signature dishes are broken down into "bucket lists," "mind boggling," and "to share" categories, and special rolls, "kitchen creations," nigiri presentations, and a classic menu are available, as well. At the bar, look for Japanese-inspired cocktails, beer, and wine, plus an extensive sake menu that includes a house-brewed option.
The restaurant's official website raises the hype level, claiming Eight "will change your perception of a neighborhood sushi bar and will alter forever your view of Japanese food" — well, that's a pretty high bar. Nightly dinner reservations are available via OpenTable and an insider membership that comes with VIP invites to special events, alerts for rare ingredients being served, priority seating, and "chef's surprises."
