After taking over the kitchen in July, chef Matthew Ridgway is ready to install his new menu at The Southern Gentleman in Buckhead. The new dishes attempt to showcase Ridgway's "contemporary interpretation of Southern fare."
"It's critical for a restaurant to continue evolving, and I think we're exactly where we need to be right now as we add fresh new flavors to our menu," Ridgway said in an announcement. "There's such a rich diversity of produce grown here — like Gold Rush apples, which are a personal favorite. We have incorporated them into our pork cochon and just can't get enough of their distinctively rich taste."
It might be a good time for the restaurant to shake things up. The Southern Gentleman's cuisine has received mixed reviews since opening last December, most recently receiving zero stars from Atlanta Journal-Constitution critic Wyatt Williams. In his critique, Williams said the restaurant's approach "makes me bored with a place and cuisine that I would rather love."
In addition to turning out food for The Southern Gentleman, Ridgway and his staff prepare Mediterranean cuisine for Gypsy Kitchen in a shared kitchen. Take a look at The Southern Gentleman's new menus below.
