Adrian Villarreal opens Rreal Tacos, his fast-casual taqueria, at 11 a.m. today in Midtown. At the first restaurant of his own, Villarreal aims to "redefine familiar and authentic Mexican cuisine. Can the former Spence chef's tacos stand up to some of the best found on Buford Highway? It's time to find out.
The menu includes eight varieties of tacos are available for $2.99 each, and add-ons range from complimentary options such as salsa roja and shredded cabbage to $0.50 toppings like sauteed peppers and onions and queso fresco. And for a dollar, Villarreal will transform that taco into a quesadilla. The bar will pour a selection of Mexican cocktails and beers, plus local suds from the likes of Red Brick Brewing and SweetWater Brewing Company.
Rreal Tacos is located at 110 6th Street NE. Hours are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
