Bread & Butterfly, the Inman Quarter restaurant from Cakes & Ale chef Billy Allin and wife/business partner Kristin, opens today at 3 p.m. Described as an "all-day European cafe" it takes inspiration from Paris with the cuisine and decor, and a daytime coffee counter transforms into a wine bar at night.
Cakes & Ale chef de cuisine Bryan Stoffelen is in as executive chef, and David Garcia and Abigail Quinn, who run the small restaurant group's bakery, Proof Bakeshop, are in charge of breads, pastries, and dessert. Cakes & Ale sommelier and beverage director Jordan Smelt is cultivating the drink list, which includes wine, beer, classic cocktails, and digestifs. Bread & Butterfly will offer full breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner service.
Bread & Butterfly expects to have its liquor license in time for service on Tuesday. The restaurant is located at 290 Elizabeth Street, and regular hours are Tuesday through Saturday from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Take a look at the full menu below.
