Replacing the short-lived Bantu at Alpharetta's Avalon development, Branch & Barrel is now in business. The restaurant opened for dinner Friday and added lunch service today.
Unlike most restaurants these days, Branch & Barrel actually opened ahead of schedule — it was first announced for early 2016. Chef/owner Todd Hogan, the man behind Branchwater in Cumming, came up with the concept, which is a "19th century industrial craft bar," according to Avalon's website. Hogan's kitchen is turning out dishes such as sherried lobster and sweet corn gratin with pita chips and bacon-marinated bistro steak and fries.
Hours at Branch & Barrel are Sunday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 a.m. See the full menu below.
