JP Atlanta, the latest restaurant from famed Atlanta architect John C. Portman Jr., opens its doors tonight, just in time to ring in the new year. The eatery takes up residence in the new Hotel Indigo Downtown, carrying the legacy of Portman's old Midnight Sun. JP Atlanta is open for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and late-night service at the bar.
Julio Delgado is on board as executive chef, moving on from his post as executive chef at Château Élan Winery & Resort in Braselton. The menu features standard American hotel fare, which the restaurant describes as "classic cooking styles and recognizable ingredients presented in new, interesting, and even surprising ways." Soups, salads, and sandwiches compliment beef, poultry, fish, and pasta entrees.
JP Atlanta kicks off service with a special New Year's Eve prix fixe menu, and reservations are required for dining between 6 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. See the New Year's offerings, plus the restaurant's regular menus, below.
