— Hugh Acheson, the Top Chef judge and restauranteur behind Empire State South, Five & Ten, The National, and The Florence, is slated for a book-signing appearance at Ponce City Market this week. Acheson will set up shop at Williams-Sonoma on Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., when he'll sign copies of his latest cookbook The Broad Fork. The book features 200 recipes and "narrates the four seasons of produce, with accessible and home-chef friendly dishes."
— Meanwhile, Miller Union chef Steven Satterfield will host a few signings around Atlanta in the coming week. Satterfield's local book tour for his vegetable-focused debut title Root to Leaf begins this Saturday from noon to 1:30 p.m. at The Fresh Market in Buckhead. Satterfield will break out his pen at Ponce City Market's Williams-Sonoma store on Sunday from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m., and he'll visit Sur La Table at Phipps Plaza from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Monday, December 14.
In her review of both books, Eater's Sonia Chopra says, "Both are, ultimately, essential. They're valuable, in-depth looks at cooking with the seasons, to be sure, but they're also instrumental in recalibrating the Southern palate — making it an easier, happier place for me (and for everyone) to eat their vegetables."
