For in-town residents who want to try Ford Fry's "Mex-Tex" fare but don't want to make the trip to Avalon, the wait is almost over. Superica, Fry's forthcoming Krog Street Market venture, is opening soon, possibly early next week. But first, Fry is hosting a bit of a preview party tonight. The Whiskey Gentry will take the stage for some live tunes at 10 p.m., and there will be chips and salsa and, if the liquor license comes through in time, a cash bar with margaritas and other beverages.
Superica's opening menu is not yet available, but the offerings will be similar to those at The El Felix in Avalon. Chef Kevin Maxey, who helped Fry open The El Felix, is working on the Inman Park restaurant as well.
UPDATE: Superica has its liquor license, so the tequila will be flowing during tonight's festivities.
