The folks behind Condesa Coffee, the highly praised Old Fourth Ward coffeeshop, are almost ready to open their second location. Condesa will begin brewing in the Atlanta Daily World building this Monday.
Owned by Georgia Tech grads Daniela Staiculescu, Amin Rida, Moe Reda, and Octavian Stan, the first Condesa opened at Boulevard and Freedom Parkway in 2010. Serving Counter Culture Coffee, it has been named to national-best lists in the four years since. The new outpost takes up space in a building that was being considered for demolition two years ago, but has been converted to a mixed-use development by Gene Kansas Commercial Real Estate. Condesa and its neighbors are right on the Atlanta Streetcar line.
Condesa will initially serve daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the following week hours will expand from 7 a.m. to 7 or 8 p.m. In addition to the coffee, look for Rishi teas, pastries from Alon's and Holeman & Finch, sandwiches, and small plates. The team plans on acquiring a liquor license later this year.
