Ecco, the Midtown European concept from local hospitality group Fifth Group Restaurants, has hired Joshua Perkins to serve as executive chef. Perkins will oversee daily culinary operations, and he will eventually add his own touch to the menu. He replaces chef Jonathan Beatty, who left in January.
Perkins comes to Atlanta from Memphis, where he was chef/partner at Flight Restaurant and Wine Bar since 2012. His resume also includes work at a few Atlanta restaurants, including di Paolo, Brasserie Le Coze, and Globe Restaurant and Lounge — the latter two are now closed. In all, Perkins has 25 years of experience in the industry.
"We are pleased to welcome Joshua to the Fifth Group family," Fifth Group partner Robby Kukler said in a prepared statement. "His impressive resume and leadership experience will be invaluable to ensuring Ecco continues to offer an unparalleled dining experience with fresh, original cuisine and connected service."
