Former Cinco y Diez chefs Whitney Otawka and Ben Wheatley have found their new professional home. The duo will take over as culinary director and executive chef, respectively, at Greyfield Inn on Cumberland Island. Otawka served as executive chef and Wheatley was chef de cuisine at Cinco y Diez, Hugh Acheson's Mexican concept in Athens, before it shuttered last October.

At Greyfield Inn, Otawka, a Top Chef alum, will focus on a farm-to-table philosophy and expand the dining program to include specialty wine events and guest chef dinners, according to a release. Wheatley will run the kitchen, integrating coastal and Caribbean flavors into the Southern menu.

"We look forward to working with the fresh, local ingredients that are unique to the island and unavailable in many parts of the country," Otawka said in a prepared statement. "Our gardeners previously worked at Summerland Farm and Serenbe Farms, so they are cultivating crops that are specifically designed to enhance our farm-to-table initiatives."
