After several Atlanta restaurants and chefs were named as semifinalists for the 2015 James Beard Awards, only one made the cut as a nominee, or finalist. Miller Union's Steven Satterfield is up for Best Chef: Southeast.

It's the third year in a row Satterfield has been a nominee in the category; Ashley Christensen of Pool's Downtown Diner in Raleigh, N.C., won last year. His rivals this year are John Fleer (Rhubarb, Asheville), Edward Lee (610 Magnolia, Louisville), Jason Stanhope (FIG, Charleston), Andrew Ticer and Michael Hudman (Andrew Michael Italian Kitchen, Memphis), and Tandy Wilson, (City House, Nashville).

Local semifinalists that didn't make the cut as nominees are Lusca (Best New Restaurant); The Grey, Savannah (Best New Restaurant); Kimball House (Outstanding Bar Program); Pamela Moxley, Miller Union (Outstanding Pastry Chef); Bacchanalia (Outstanding Restaurant); Ford Fry (Outstanding Restaurateur); One Flew South (Outstanding Service); Miller Union (Outstanding Wine Program); Steven Grubbs, Empire State South (Outstanding Wine, Beer, or Spirits Professional); Landon Thompson, Cooks & Soldiers (Rising Star of the Year); Billy Allin, Cakes & Ale (Best Chef: Southeast); Kevin Gillespie, Gunshow (Best Chef: Southeast); and Todd Ginsberg, The General Muir (Best Chef: Southeast).

Winners of the 2015 James Beard Awards will be revealed at the awards gala in Chicago on May 4. See the complete list of nominees at Eater National.
