Local chef/restaurateur Anne Quatrano announced earlier this month that she would close Abattoir, her "Southern chophouse" in Westside Provisions District, and last call came over the weekend. Abattoir held its final dinner service Saturday night. Atlanta-turned-national empire builder Ford Fry will take over the space and plans to open a traditional steakhouse, Marcel, in July.
Quatrano previously said that everyone at Abattoir has positions available at her other restaurants, Star Provisions, Floataway Cafe, Bacchanalia, and the forthcoming Dub's Fish Camp. Her Ponce City Market venture and a new restaurant below Bacchanalia are on track to open in late spring/early summer.
