1) DECATUR — My Parents' Basement, the forthcoming restaurant/craft beer bar/comic book store, has found a home. The restaurant announced Monday on Facebook it will set up shop in the former James Joyce Irish Pub space at 22 North Avondale Road. The building has been vacant since James Joyce closed in 2012. Co-owner Tim Ensor hopes to open in My Parents' Basement in July or August, per Decaturish.
2) VIRGINIA-HIGHLAND — In addition to a second Urban Cannibals location and a new restaurant called Madre + Mason, the We Serve People Restaurant Group is working on a third venture called Tipple + Rose Tea Parlor + Apothecary. On track to open this summer, according to We Serve People PR, Tipple + Rose will offer 100 kinds of brewed teas, bulk teas and spices, caffeinated coffee alternatives, morning pastries, desserts, and lighter fare, plus High Tea service, tastings, and monthly tea pourings. The tea shop will open at 806 North Highland Avenue, next door to Surin of Thailand.
3) DOWNTOWN — Lavazza Cafe, an Italian coffee manufacturer, is coming to the 200 Peachtree building, reports What Now Atlanta. The coffeehouse will be situated between Atlanta Braves All Star Grill and Sweet Georgia's Juke Joint, and reportedly be one of only three brick-and-mortar Lavazza Cafe locations in America.
