The partners who opened Grain in Midtown last December, including Billy Streck and Drew Van Leuvan, are working on another project together. Nothing is official yet, but they hope to launch Tavernpointe in Midtown's former LPC space this summer. LPC closed late last year.
Tavernpointe will offer "elevated American cuisine in an intimate, casual atmosphere," according to the restaurant's PR. Madison Burch, previously of Ecco and current bar manager at Seven Lamps, is helping to create beverage program. At the bar, look for classic cocktails, wine, and 16 beers on tap, with a focus on local brews.
The space will include a private dining area and patio seating. Located at 1545 Peachtree Street, Tavernpointe will be open for lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch service.
Streck has been busy lately. In addition to his stake in Grain, he's working on Hampton & Hudson, which should open in the Inman Quarter development this fall. He is also a partner in Midtown's Cypress Street Pint & Plate. Van Leuvan is chef/partner at Seven Lamps in Buckhead.
