Himitsu, the forthcoming reservation-only lounge from the Umi Sushi team, has a new name on board. T. Fable Jeon is in as director, working with creative director Shingo Gokan to oversee the lounge's cocktail program.

Jeon has spread his cocktail influence around Atlanta, making stops at The LawrenceThe Pinewood Tippling RoomMiso Izakaya, and the recently opened Le Fat. Guy Wong, owner of Miso Izakaya and Le Fat, told Eater Atlanta Friday that Jeon will continue to serve as consulting beverage director for the two restaurants.

"I have had the pleasure of working with many industry innovators, but Shingo Gokan is at the vanguard of classic Japanese bartending," Jeon said in a prepared statement. "This is an exciting chance to fuse the etiquette and ritual of Japanese bartending with the DNA strands of classic American barkeeping."

Himitsu announced the hiring of Gokan last month. He is currently the beverage director at Angel's Share in New York City, and he opened Speak Low, a speakeasy in Shanghai, last year. Gokan beat out more than 10,000 bartenders from 26 countries to take home first place in the Bacardi Legacy Global Cocktail Competition in 2012.

"With Fable joining us, Himitsu will have an unparalleled team in place to ensure the highest level of creativity and service," co-owner Farshid Arshid said. "His discipline and inspired precision in all things makes him the perfect counterpart to Shingo."

Himitsu, located a few doors down from Umi at 3050 Peachtree Road NE in Buckhead, is on track to open late next month.
