Morningside pizzeria Varuni Napoli is ready to open its doors after a brief hiatus. The Neapolitan restaurant has been cleaning up water damage following a false-alarm call to the Atlanta Fire Department, but service will resume tonight at 5:30 p.m.
A passer-by noticed smoke coming from the restaurant on Sunday, April 26, and promptly alerted the fire department, which rushed through the front door with hoses at the ready. The only problem: There was no fire. The smoke was coming from the wood-burning pizza ovens. Varuni Napoli had been closed since the false alarm.
The return to normal hours means Varuni Napoli is open Tuesday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., Saturday from noon to midnight, and Sunday from noon to 10 p.m.
