Himitsu, the forthcoming side project from the folks behind Umi Sushi, is nearing its opening. If the final interior rendering, shown above, is any indication, the lounge will live up to co-owner Farshid Arshid's glitzy expectations. Arshid previously said he wants Himitsu to resemble a place where "James Bond and Sammy Davis Jr. would meet for a martini."
Himitsu is meant to serve as a pre- or post-dinner stop for Umi diners, and entry will require a reservation. Chef Fuyuhiko Ito will prepare some small dishes specifically for the lounge, and some items from the Umi menu will be available, as well. The beverage program will be extensive, run by Shingo Gokan and T. Fable Jeon.
Taking over the space at 3050 Peachtree Road NE, just a few doors down from Umi in Buckhead, Himitsu is on track to open this summer.
