Buckhead Italian eatery Portofino will end lunch service on Monday, June 29, in an effort to prepare for a new Sunday brunch service, the restaurant announced Thursday. Executive chef Matt Marcus and his kitchen staff will take the extra hours to develop a brunch menu, which will launch this fall.
"We want to thank everyone in the neighborhood that have made lunch at Portofino a part of their tradition over the years," Portofino owner/GM Michael Anderson said in a prepared statement. "We're excited to focus our energy on an even more seasonal and sustainable dinner menu and hope that the community will be intrigued to visit us in the evening and later this year for brunch."
Starting June 29, Portofino will be open for dinner only, Monday through Thursday from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 5:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., and Sunday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
