Replacing Corner Tavern, which was sold and shuttered last month, The Whelan is now open at 1133 Huff Road in Westside. The new restaurant comes from Jason Da Luz, previously a Corner Tavern partner, reports Tomorrow's News Today.

The menu doesn't stray too far from the offerings at Corner Tavern. There's a list of sandwiches and burgers, and entrees include "family recipe chicken curry," flat-iron steak and frites, fish and chips, and crimson red snapper Romanesco. Two cocktails appear on the menu: the Dream Machine and the Cat's Meow.

After the Westside shutter, three Corner Tavern locations remain: East Point, Edgewood Avenue in Sweet Auburn, and the recently reopened outpost in Little Five Points.
